ACORT (The Retail Companies Association)




The Retail Companies Association (ACORT) was established upon the initiative of the retail networks representatives in Russia in 2001 to represent the interests of their members and coordinate their activities.


Association actively interacts with the key Federal ministries and agencies, State Duma of the Russian Federation, public associations, unions and other associations on a wide range of issues affecting the interests of retail trade.


For the years of its existence the Association has launched and implemented a considerable number of initiatives directed towards the civilized development of the Russian retail industry, acted as the organizer of numerous exhibitions, forums and festivals.


The major step became signing in December 2012 by seven leading industrial unions and associations, participants of the consumer market (ACORT, «RusBrand», «Soyuzmoloko», «Rusprodsoyuz», National Meat Association, Fish Union, Association of producers and consumers of fat-and-oil products), Committee on Consumer market of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Consumers union of the Russian Federation a "Code of good practice of relations between the retail networks and suppliers of consumer goods". The 1st Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov participated in the signing ceremony.


Heads of the largest trade companies of the country were among the leaders of the Association in different years. Five years ACORT Presidium was headed by Lev Khasis, who is currently the first Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia. In 2011 he was replaced by Iliya Yakubson the President of Dixie Group, who heads the ACORT Presidium up to this day.


ACORT is a member of such prestigious organizations as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, RSPP (Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs), Union of Participants of the Consumer Market, «Support of Russia».
