Chinese company will participate in TTP construction in Altai region

LLC “Investment-development company” (IDC) together with Chinese “Machinary Engineering Corporation” plans to build a new TTP with a capacity of 500 MWt and 420 Gcal in Rubtsovsk, Altai region. Wang Lee Weng, general director of Business Affairs Office, said that the Chinese company is interested in this project and the current political situation is favorable for joint Russian-Chinese projects.

Mikhail Dvorkovich, the chairman of the board of directors of IDC, presented a project of a new TTP to the governor of Altai region Alexander Karlin. The company suggests building a TTP on the basis of Rubtsovsk TTP. At the present time established electrical capacity of the plant is 18 MWt while the heating capacity is 342 Gcal. The project realization will meet the city’s need for heat and energy and will help to increase the total energy generated in Altai region. The development of the project will also make possible the energy transit to Kazakhstan. The Ministry of Energy has already approved the engineering study. Upon preliminary information, the building will cost around 40-50 mln rubles.

“Today our country has a good relationship with Russia, and Chinese companies look forward to work in the Russian market. It’s very important for us to understand the economics of the project and to measure the quality of business guaranties. At the moment we’ve already got a positive opinion on the project”, said Wang Lee Weng.
