Auchan launches full-cycle production in Tambov region

Auchan started a construction of meat plant in Tambov region, as part of company’s full-cycle production project realization. The meat plant will produce all types of meat products with a capacity of 40 thousand tons a year. Auchan plans to finish the construction in 2016 and to increase the output to 70 thousand tons a year by 2020.

Auchan launches full-cycle production in Tambov region

Auchan started a construction of meat plant in Tambov region, as part of company’s full-cycle production project realization. The meat plant will produce all types of meat products with a capacity of 40 thousand tons a year. Auchan plans to finish the construction in 2016 and to increase the output to 70 thousand tons a year by 2020. The amount of investment in the project is 2,5 billion rubles.

Jean Pierre Germain, the General Director of “Auchan Russia”, said that the next step in project realization would be a construction of warehouse in Moscow region. Besides, Auchan has signed an agreement with local company “Tambov-Agroinvest” for slaughterhouse construction with the investment of 329 million rubles.

The creation of full-cycle production chain, from cattle culturing to hitting the shelves, will help retailers to broaden the range of high-quality products and give small and medium enterprises an opportunity for cooperation with big retail networks.

Auchan, one of the world’s largest retailers, was founded in France in 1961. The retail network owns more than 1,7 thousand super- and hypermarkets in 15 countries. Auchan has been operating in Russia since 2002 and now is the third-largest player in Russian market with total revenue of 313,5 billion rubles in 2014. At the end of 2014 Auchan has 84 stores in Russia.
