Travel.ru tourist service has ascertained what resorts are the most popular among travelers in 2016. Its rating was compiled based on early booking information relating to independent travelers who do not use services offered by travel agencies.
Top 10 Russian resorts include Sochi, Yalta, Gelendzhik, Koktebel, Svetlogorsk (Kaliningrad Region), Eisk, Pyatigorsk (Stavropol Territory), Anapa, Tuapse and Yevpatoria.
According to the research, this year, tourists are ready to pay from RUB 1,400 in Eisk to RUB 5,000+ in Sochi per night at the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory with the average price exceeding RUB 3,000 per night. Gelendzhik-related average bookings cover two weeks, while Sochi's, Anapa's and Eisk's average durations are 7.5 nights.
According to Oktogo.ru, a hotel booking website, most popular foreign resorts as at the beginning of 2016 included Thailand (RUB 4,500) and Vietnam (RUB 2,900) while summer 2016 holidays focus on Italy (RUB 5,600), Spain (RUB 5,000) and Greece (RUB 4,600).
In 2016, Top 10 popular foreign countries preferred by independent Russian tourists include Italy, Spain, Thailand, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, France, Poland, Estonia and Hungary.
