The City Administration of Chelyabinsk is negotiating with Hilton's international hotel chain on the potential construction of a chain hotel in the capital of South Ural. According to Znak.com, Vladimir Slobodsky, a Deputy City Governor for Town Planning, city authorities have offered the investor to choose between several potential sites and are looking forward to receiving its feedback as early as this week.

"Preliminary negotiations have been completed", Mr. Slobodskoy emphasized. "We have provided the company with source information and voiced our proposals. More specifically, we have offered land plots located at the intersection of Truda Street and Engels Street as well as at the Universitetskaya Embankment, near Sverdlovsky Prospect. The company has promised to revert with its answer this week. If the answer is Yes, work will start". The Deputy City Governor found it difficult to answer the question about the potential amount to be invested.

We note that the intersection of Truda Street and Engels Street already features a hotel owned by Radisson, a world famed hotel chain. It was erected by Rodnik, a company owned by Mikhail Yurevich, an ex-Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region. Should the developer choose this site, the hotels will have to live elbow to elbow.
