An appropriate letter of intent was signed on the 3rd of February by Governor Sergey Morozov, Director of the Center for EcoTechnology Dmitry Fatyanov and Commercial Director of Vireo Energy holding company Aleksey Yuschuk. The event was held in the presence of Peter Ericson, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden in the Russian Federation.
Another renewable power generation project to be implemented in the Ulyanovsk Region
An appropriate letter of intent was signed on the 3rd of February by Governor Sergey Morozov, Director of the Center for EcoTechnology Dmitry Fatyanov and Commercial Director of Vireo Energy holding company Aleksey Yuschuk. The event was held in the presence of Peter Ericson, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden in the Russian Federation.
"By implementing this project we can solve several tasks such as improving the region's environment, attracting investments for this purpose and creating new job opportunities", Governor Sergey Morozov emphasized.
It is expected that Barataevka solid waste landfill will be used as the site for constructing the renewable power generation project. Vireo Energy is going to do a preliminary analysis of on-site gas owned by the Center for EcoTechnology in a short time. The Government of the Ulyanovsk Region will support the investment project and provide necessary administrative aid should the plans spring to life.
This project is the second one in alternative energy. At the turn of the last year, an agreement was executed with Fortum, pursuant to which the investor would construct a 35MW wind farm in the Ulyanovsk Region. The total amount to be invested in the project will be EUR 65 million. Technical aspects are now being dealt with.
