The center that was made for some 10 months resembles a real shop floor and makes it possible to reproduce full production cycle, including maintenance and repair functions. "A center of competencies has been created here to disseminate best practices to be learnt by students and employees from Ural enterprises", Minister Livanov said. "I'm sure that this center will facilitate the improvement of labor productivity", a Head of one Federal Agency outlined. Together with representatives of the partners who have implemented this unusual project, the opening ceremony will be attended by Russian Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov and Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Eugeny Kuyvashev. The most important point here is that the place will be used to train corporate managers and investors who will be eager to develop their own businesses in our region.

"The model factory in Yekaterinburg is a required component of our university's activities as a real participant of and development driver for the economy", Viktor Koksharov, the President of the Ural Federal University, said. There are several training modules featuring up-to-date equipment. There is a metal finishing unit used for turning and milling work, joint service system, assembling block and storage facility. There are also operational banking and service blocks. Industrial goals are set for students resembling challenges they may meet when working, representatives of the Governor's Information Policies Department of the Sverdlovsk Region told. And all of the blocks may be improved by relocating equipment, enhancing internal logistics, changing technology, encouraging and sparking people's interest. This will make it possible to achieve a remarkable saving in terms of the quantity of details used and reduce their production time. For this reason, the factory will be in high demand on the part of industrialists aiming to attract skilled personnel and improve skills of the existing employees.

Russia's first Model Factory of the Ural Federal University (UrFU), United Heavy Machinery Plants (OMZ) and McKinsey will hold its opening ceremony in Yekaterinburg on the 16^th of February. The shared idea unites entities operating in different sectors such as education, science, production and other.

The innovation project is being implemented on a PPP basis. McKinsey has ensured that appropriate technology has been transferred and provided personnel training, including training of teachers and professionals in Germany on a similar factory of the Darmstadt University.
