Chinese Haier to open a TV equipment plant in Tatarstan

Haier, a Chinese manufacturer of household appliances, will open a plant to manufacture TV sets in Tatarstan. It will be hosted by Master, a Kama-based Industrial Park (KIP) in Naberzezhniye Chelny, where experts from Haier are completing the construction of a refrigerators plant.

Haier, a Chinese manufacturer of household appliances, will open a plant to manufacture TV sets in Tatarstan. It will be hosted by Master, a Kama-based Industrial Park (KIP) in Naberzezhniye Chelny, where experts from Haier are completing the construction of a refrigerators plant. This was reported today to journalists by Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov.

According to Tatarstan's Investment Development Agency, Haier is about to complete the installation of its equipment on the site of the refrigerators plant in Naberzezhniye Chelny with the launch of the production being expected to take place in April 2016. The plant will be capable of manufacturing 250,000 refrigerators p.a. which capacity is expected to be increased to 500,000. Investments in the project will exceed $55 million. The company intends to export part of its output to the countries being members of the Eurasian Economic Union. Component localization at Haier's refrigerators plant will be 40% at the first phase to reach 60–70% at the second phase.

Master KIP was founded in 2004 in Naberezhniye Chelny based on Kamaz's former production areas. In 2013, after the fifth development stage was completed, the park's area totaled more than 643.6 square meters with more than 250 residents operating here and about 5,000 persons being employed by new production facilities.
