Khakassia authorities searching for investors for coal-chemical projects

The Government of Khakassia intends to find investors to develop coal chemistry in the Region, a brand new industry for the Region, Head of the Republic Viktor Simin was quoted as saying at the Government's meeting.

The Government of Khakassia intends to find investors to develop coal chemistry in the Region, a brand new industry for the Region, Head of the Republic Viktor Simin was quoted as saying at the Government's meeting.


"This area is interesting and new. We are by all means ready to become a partner and pilot area to host any promising know-how projects meeting the interests of the Region's residents as well as environmental criteria and economic efficiency approach", he said.


The Regional Government believes that 'highly profitable coal-chemical facilities' may be created in Khakassia.


In 2015, Khakassia's coal production grew by 13% y.o.y. to reach 16.9 million tonnes. The solid fuel is extracted in the Region by SUEK, CJSC Razrez Stepnoy Coal-Mining Company, LLC Razrez Arshanovsky and LLC Razrez Beloyarsky. Furthermore, LLC Vostsibugol is about to offer the market its coal produced at the Beiskoye Deposit owned by it.
