Swiss investors to potentially launch production in Voronezh Region

A group of businessmen from Switzerland has arrived at the Voronezh Region. The potential investors are ready to finance a greenfield project on constructing a spices and marinades plant. Governor Alexey Gordeyev has stressed that should this project be turned into reality, other Europeans would follow the lead of the Swiss entrepreneurs.

A group of businessmen from Switzerland has arrived at the Voronezh Region. The potential investors are ready to finance a greenfield project on constructing a spices and marinades plant. Governor Alexey Gordeyev has stressed that should this project be turned into reality, other Europeans would follow the lead of the Swiss entrepreneurs. The delegation of businessmen is headed by Pierre Helg, an Ambassador of Switzerland to Russia, who noted the importance of this joint investment project. Investors from Switzerland will subsequently be able to finance the development of agricultural sectors and create farm enterprises in the Region.

The Ambassador argued against the imposition of economic sanctions on Russia and added that any business restrictions inflict harm not only on Russian but also on European companies. The USA actively uses its economic independence from Russia and exert influence on EU countries which, in turn, are closely connected with Russian entities.

Pierre Helg expressed his hope for the normalization of relations between Russia and the European Union as soon as possible. As soon as the relations become good-neighborly once again, European banks will be able to return to the Russian market and Russian manufacturers will be able to supply their products to the EU. "The trade turnover between the countries needs to be returned to the previous level to ensure that cooperation resumes with renewed vigor", the Diplomat added.
