In 2016 at the initiative of the Federal Agency for Tourism Murmansk region took on the role of co-chairman on the Russian side of the Joint Working Group on Tourism of the Barents / Euro-Arctic region at the regional level. The aim of the joint working group on tourism is the intensification of international and inter-agency cooperation in the tourism industry, to create conditions for the successful development of tourism in the Barents / Euro-Arctic Region, including the strengthening of interaction of transport and the tourism industry, the development of logistics and infrastructure, implementation of joint projects in the sphere of culture and environment environment. Joint activities carried out within the framework of the working group, is one of the best examples of successful international cooperation of the Murmansk region with Finland, Norway and Sweden, the stability of traditions of good-neighborliness and mutual assistance. Today the formation of the work plan for a two-year term. March 11, 2016 representatives of the Murmansk region participated in the meeting of the Working Group "Development of international cooperation" of the State Commission on the Development of the Arctic, where they discussed measures to implement the program of the Russian Chairmanship of the Barents / Euro-Arctic Council, including in the framework of the joint working group on Tourism, the next meeting which is scheduled in Kainuu (Finland) in May 2016.
