Dutch onion producers are taking interest in the Penza Region. This has been reported by Andrei Luzgin, the Minister responsible for the Region's investment development.

"Dutch investors plan to visit Penza in early May to consider opportunities to enter into a contract to enable the growing of their products in the Region, especially seed onion. In Russia, Dutch onion producers are likely to cooperate with Moscow-based distributors. We, in turn, have to select an appropriate site for the foreign investors to accommodate their onion-raising plant", Mr. Luzgin told during his interview.

The Minister also noted that as at today the western investors have not voiced their preferences for the site. All details will be discussed during their visit to Penza.

In this connection, Governor of the Region Ivan Belozertsev has ordered the relevant agency to proceed to preparations for the meeting to be held with the potential investor and selection of land plots to host the Dutch facility.
