A new string designed to produce Agusha fruit purees that were previously imported to Russia has been commissioned at a pilot baby food plant being a member of PepsiCo group.

Silvia Popovici, the CEO of PepsiCo's Russian operations, Ukraine and CIS countries, has told the following about the project: "PepsiCo is committed to maximally localizing its production. The launch of the new string will enable us to increase our baby food production capacities, expand our personnel and increase purchases of raw materials and packages, including those of the Russian origin."

The new Agusha fruit puree string will comprise blinding, homogenizing, deaering and heating areas, a filling machine capable of packing 9,600 packages per hour, sterilization and filling areas.

The pilot baby food plant located in Chermashnaya village, Fatezh District, Kursk Region, was purchased by Wimm-Bill-Dann in 2005 followed by Wimm-Bil- Dann's membership in PepsiCo group. The plant makes fruit puree and baby juices sold under Agusha name in glass bottles and cardboard packs as well as bottled juices sold under "ß" product name. PepsiCo's operations in the Kursk Region supply its output to all regions of Russia and CIS countries.
