On April 12, Sergey Morozov, the provisional Governor of the Uluanovsk region, visited construction sites and then held a working meeting with representatives of 'Decathlon Group', specializing in production and distribution of sporting goods, and 'Leroy Merlin' that is planning to open a construction and finishing materials hypermarket in the region.

According to Daniel Arfaoui, the Regional Development Manager at Decathlon Group, considerable work is currently under way onsite. “Just in a month we will finish construction of a framework, and then finishing works and site improvements will start. Under the agreement, the shop has to be opened in October, but we will try to complete it earlier. There are no problems at the moment and the city authorities are helping us at this stage”, - said Daniel Arfaoui.

The supermarket will have a retail area of 3500 square meters with future expansion up to 6000 sq.m. In the hypermarket more than 35000 brands of sporting goods will be presented. The volume of investment into the project amounts to 300 million rubles, and there are 60 new workplaces. In addition to the main trade building, it is also planned to create children's play and sports grounds for different sports activities with a total area of more than 300 sq.m.

One more object, which will be built within the territory of the Ulyanovsk region, is the construction and finishing materials hypermarket of the Leroy Merlin company. A permission for construction of the object was received in December, 2015.

Currently extensive building activities are taking place. It is planned that the shop will open this year in September. “We want to create a shop of high quality, which we will hold up as an example. The volume of investment into the project will amount to 1.5 billion rubles, and 350 new workplaces will be created”, - commented Riccardo Ciralli, the Regional Director of Real Estate Expansion of Leroy Merlin Vostok LLC.

The question of transport logistics was also discussed at the meeting. Sergey Morozov instructed the city to address the issue of transport infrastructure, so that inhabitants and visitors of the city could get to the new objects comfortably and safely.
