Ulyanovsk Aircraft Factory receives Czech machine-tools

Trimill branded machine-tools have been commissioned at the Ulyanovsk Aircraft Factory. The first set of the company's equipment has been operating at the Factory since 2009. In 2014, Aviastar-SP purchased another 4 machines, 3 of which will be used by the mechanical-and-framing shop to manufacture steel and aluminum parts for aircrafts and the remaining one will be used by the production enabling shop to manufacture sophisticated technology equipment. The machines will enable to mechanically process parts designed for future aircrafts far more effectively.

The official ceremony was visited by Jan Mladek, the Czech Republic's Minster of Industry and Trade, who emphasized that the Czech Republic plans to further develop its relations with the Region with the training of specialists in numerous fields being one of cooperation areas.

Trimlill's CEO Milan Julina noted that the company's machine-tools are installed in facilities operating in the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany and other countries. The company reckons on placing its production facility inside the Ulyanovsk Region. The project will be implemented in several phases. The company plans to proceed to the production of machine-tools in autumn this year, using leased space. The investor figures on constructing its own facility in future. The total amount to be invested in the project will be RUB 200 million.

Acting Governor Sergey Morozov said that the new machine-tools are one of steps made to develop the machine-building cluster. According to him, as early as by 2018, the Region will feature at least 6 large machine-tool plants and about 10 facilities operating in the industrial park and functioning as suppliers for the machine-building plants of the Ulyanovsk Region and other constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

Aviastar SP's Director Andrei Kapustin told during the official ceremony devoted to the transfer of the machine-tools that the new machine-tools will facilitate the ongoing technical re-equipment of the facility and allow improving labor efficiency.
