Tatarstan's President has hold a meeting with a Latvian Ambassador and discussed potential cooperation.


An official delegation headed by Astra Kurme, the Ambassador of the Latvian Republic to Russia has visited Tatarstan. A meeting between the representatives of the delegation and Rustam Minnikhanov took place in Kazan's Kremlin.


Rustam Minnikhanov noted that despite certain crisis challenges faced by the global political arena, it is necessary to maintain and develop business contacts between Tatarstan and Latvia.


"We are open for cooperation on a mutually beneficial basis and ready to expand our ties within relations between Russian and Latvia", Tatarstan's President emphasized.


Rustam Minnikhanov invited Latvian businesses to visit Tatarstan noting that Tatarstan has everything they need to lay foundation for their development in Russia.


"There are two operating special economic zones in the Republic that offer all necessary conditions to foreign investors", Rustam Minnikhanov said.


Astra Kurme emphasized that Latvia is committed to continuing mutually beneficial relations with Tatarstan as one of Russia's leading regions.


"In the course of our visit to Kazan, we plan to meet representatives of Tatarstan-based businesses and outline ways for our further mutually fruitful cooperation", the Ambassador said.
