Hitachi developing factory in Tver Region

Hitachi Construction Machinery Eurasia Manufacturing (a member of Hitachi Construction Machinery, Japan) continues to intensively develop in Russia: the company's facility operating in the Tver Region has completed the construction of a new blanking shop which is now capable of cutting and bending steel sheets and doing pre-welding preparations.

Hitachi Construction Machinery Eurasia Manufacturing (a member of Hitachi Construction Machinery, Japan) continues to intensively develop in Russia: the company's facility operating in the Tver Region has completed the construction of a new blanking shop which is now capable of cutting and bending steel sheets and doing pre-welding preparations. Steel sheets are then used to manufacture booms, handles, turntable platforms and carriage frames for power shovels. Rolled metal products are supplied by local vendors. The amount invested to implement the project has totaled around RUB 500 million. Now the facility features four shops in total: blanking, welding, painting and assembling ones.

The factory has also made the first shipments of booms for European mid-class power shovels (ZX210-5B, ZX220W-5B) under a contract executed in 2015 with the EU unit of Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe (Netherlands). More than 100 booms have already been shipped as at today. As compared with commercial ones, these are made of thicker metal and feature extra mounting elements. Destructive tests were performed in China previously and the booms manufactured by the Tver-based facility showed the best performance as compared against those manufactured by Hitachi in Japan
