Novosibirsk's regional authorities have held a meeting with representatives of an Indian delegation headed by Shivatanu Pillai, the General Director of BraMos Aerospace, an Indian-Russian joint-venture company. The Indian delegation also comprises Doctor Cherian Kotturatu Mammen, a cardiac surgeon and the Chairman of Frontier Lifeline Hospital, Gurusvami Sandaravadivelu, the Vice President of the Indian-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Professor Nallan Ramachandran, the Vice Principal of Periyar Maniammai University, and Parimanan Tangappan, the Secretary General of the Indian-Russian CCI, Secretary General of the Indian-Russian Culture and Friendship Society and Informative Adviser of the Russian Center of Science and Culture of the Russian Consulate General. The delegation was welcomed by Vice Governor Yury Petukhov of the Novosibirsk Region.
Shivatanu Pillai told about the activities of the Russian-Indian company he is in charge of, being designing, developing and producing supersonic cruise missiles Bramos, and described the goals of the delegation's 3 days' visit to the Novosibirsk Region – the delegation intends to hold a series of meetings with people representing the Region's science, education, healthcare, culture and industry.
The Indians are going to visit the Meshalkin Research Institute of Circulatory Pathology of the Russian Ministry of Health, Tsivian Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics, Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies, Novosibirsk State University, Exhibition Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Siberian Branch and major industrial enterprises hosted by the Region.
"We see a great potential for cooperation between the Novosibirsk Region and India. Our visit's mission is to expand contacts in all areas ranging from culture to education. Thus, we are planning to execute a memorandum of intentions aimed at cooperation with the Novosibirsk State University and hold meetings with ministers of culture and healthcare", Shivatanu Pillai told.
