A foreign delegation comprised of 30 persons has visited Ivanovo recently. Iranian businessmen and officials from Alborz Province familiarized themselves with the Region's trade and industrial potential.

The potential partners' visit started with a meeting held between the Region's Governor Pavel Konkov and Governor of the Iranian Province Sayed Hamid Tahai. The meeting made it clear that the foreign guests are in a serious mood to establish cooperation. "Negotiations are ongoing to supply food products such as meat, milk and dry fruits to our Region from Iran. Moreover, the Province has a large plant manufacturing generators ranking No.3 in the world by capacity. We could supply the products manufactured by the facility to your region as well", Sayed Hamid Tahai noted. He also added that it would be great to establish cooperation to supply medicines as the Iranian pharmaceutical production is growing at a rapid rate.

In his turn, Governor Pavel Konkov stressed that the Iranian delegation will be interested in our machinery such as auto-cranes and power shovels. He noted that an air bridge may be established between our countries. A cargo airport has been opened in Alborz Province which local authorities would like to use more intensively. The Ivanovo air terminal must get border and customs control capacities in a short time.

Future prospects were discussed between the Iranian delegation and representatives of Ivanovo businesses. A cooperation agreement was executed between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Ivanovo Region and Alborz Province.

Alborz Province was created in Iran just 6 years ago. It is situated in 20 kilometers from Tehran, the Republic's Capital. It comprises 6 large and 17 small towns. This is the smallest and simultaneously the most heavily populated province in Iran (being second only to the Capital).
