Russian Government lays a privileged road to Russian market for CLAAS

Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov has taken part in the execution of Russia's first special investment contract (SIC) with German Claas. The document was executed in the presence of Sergey Ivanov, the Head of the Russian Presidential Administration.

The subject of the key agreement reached with the German investor is the ability to apply the SIC mechanism to new phases of projects which have already been launched and a counter-obligation to localize production processes on a staged basis as agreed with the Russian party in exchange for being assigned the status of a national manufacturer.

Claas has been operating in Russia since 1992ã. In 2003, it proceeded to the manufacturing of grain combine harvesters. The Krasnodar-based facility currently manufactures nine models of grain combine harvesters and ten models of tractors. The facility's second production string was launched back in 2015. Investments made to construct the facility totaled more than EUR 150 million.
