Cargo rail runs from Chinese province Jiangsu to Moscow launched

A regular Jiangsu-Moscow railway run has been launched by FESCO transport group in partnership with the Government of Nanjing, China. This is FESCO's first service which will ensure regular direct cargo deliveries from China to Russia by land. The project has been implemented in pursuance of the company's strategy aimed to expand its core business geographic footprint, as reported by the company's Press Office. The first train comprising 41 containers departed from Nanjing on 29 June 2016. The 9,600-kilometers route passes through PJSC Transkonteiner's Zabaikalsk-based terminal with the total journey time being 15 days. At the initial stage, the train will depart from Nanjing fortnightly and later on it will switch over to a weekly schedule. The launching of the regular run enables the accelerated delivery of cargoes not only from China to Russia but also from China and countries of Southeast Asia to Europe as part of FESCO's intermodal transport chain. FESCO transport group is one of Russia's major private transport and logistics companies with assets pertaining to port, railway and integrated logistic business. FESCO's diversified portfolio enables 'door-to-door' cargo deliveries and monitoring all stages of its intermodal transport chain. The group owns Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port, Transgarant (railway operator) and 50% stake in Russkaya Troyka (fitting platforms operator). FESCO manages approximately 36,000 containers. The Group's fleet comprises 19 transport vessels and 4 ice-breakers operated under a long-term lease.
