A delegation from the Latvian Republic has met with deputies of Buryatia's People's Khural. The Latvian delegation comprises Ambassador Plenipotentiary of Latvia in Russia Astra Kurme, First Embassy Secretary Zigmars Zilgalvis, Advisor to the Latvian Ministry of Economy Iveta Strupkaya and representatives of the Republic's business community. At the People's Khural, they were greeted by deputies Vladimir Pavlov, Tsidenzhap Batuyev, Viktor Maluishenko, Bair Garmayev, Director of Buryatia's Audit Chamber Eugeny Pegasov and others.

The Latvians voiced their wish to establish good partnership relations noting that Latvia is an emerging market country looking for new partnership relations despite the crisis and sanctions imposed against Russia. Astra Kurme emphasized that Buryatia is a link between Europe and China and, therefore, cooperation with the Republic is extremely vital for them.

The Latvian delegation is going to stay in Buryatia until the 08th of July and meanwhile its members will visit the Baikal Lake, Ivolginsky Temple and other sights of the Republic.
