St. Petersburg officials discuss creation of high speed municipal transport lines with Chinese investors

Officials of the Saint Petersburg Transport Committee have held negotiations with representatives of Chinese businesses regarding the creation in the so called City-on-the-Neva-River of high-speed transport services.

St. Petersburg officials discuss creation of high speed municipal transport lines with Chinese investors

Officials of the Saint Petersburg Transport Committee have held negotiations with representatives of Chinese businesses regarding the creation in the so called City-on-the-Neva-River of high-speed transport services. The Chinese delegations included representatives of Sichuan Railway Investment Group (SRIG), Agricultural Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Beijing Dacheng Law Offices.

In the course of the meeting, the parties agreed to consider certain projects and cooperation models, including concession based ones.

We note that the latest concession based projects relating to St. Petersburg transport services include the construction of a network of private tram-lines in the City's Krasnogvardeysky District. Furthermore, intensive discussions are ongoing in connection with the Devyatkino transport interchange hub project which will become the largest city hub combining a bus station, a subway station, a railway station and an intercept car park. Interest in the project has also been expressed by foreign companies.
