It was discussed prospects for cooperation of the Smolensk and Belarusian enterprises

The working meeting between the Director of Department for investment development of Smolensk region Rostislav Rovbel and the head of the division of Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Smolensk, Russian Federation Cheslav Shulga has taken place in Smolensk.

During the conversations there were determined steps for development of further interaction between Smolensk region and Republic of Belarus in the sphere of industry.

In particular at the meeting there has been raised the question of mutually beneficial cooperation of OJSC Gomelsteklo with the Smolensk companies LLC Maksiform and LLC Russkiye Okna which are the largest manufacturing enterprises, they let out translucent structures from PVC and aluminum. The actual summarized annual volume of processing of glass of two companies makes more than 1 000 000 sq.m.

Since 2012 the Smolensk enterprises have actively cooperated with the Belarusian partner in purchase of the Jumbo glass in a format of more convenient terms for the enterprise of delivery by the customer. Since 2014 the situation has beсome complicated because of necessity of works with the Belarusian plant through intermediaries.

- Republic of Belarus is the leading economic partner of Smolensk region. It isn’t a secret for anybody that our interaction with the neighboring state is rather broad in the most different spheres. The joint ventures companies which are positively influencing the economic growth, volumes of tax revenues, work in the territory of Smolensk region. We maintain partnership relations with a number of the Belarusian companies. I’m sure that we will manage to resolve this question. In the present economic situation many tasks, especially at the international level, are important to solve together, to look for new points of growth, options of mutually beneficial cooperation, - Rostislav Rovbel has emphasized, summing up the results of the meeting.
