4 manufacturers took part in a tender conducted to award the tramway delivery contract. Pursuant to the conditions of the tender, Stadler, a Swiss manufacturer of passenger trains, is going to deliver to Saint Petersburg 23 three-section tram-cars featuring two-sided doors and low floor. A final decision is going to be made on the 1st of August.

One of Stadler's advantages is a 5-year warranty offered for the cars as well as a better price and warranty maintenance proposal. The first section of the private tramway line will be created in the Krasnogvardeisky District. This was reported on Thursday by Transport Concession Company (TCC). By August 2017, they must have delivered to us six 33.5-meter long 260 passengers tram-cars.

Russia does not manufacture tram-cars featuring such parameters with Russian manufacturers making cars having two-sided doors and 70% low-floor level, according to the top manager of one of manufacturers.
