Sutech Engineering, Thailand, has registered LLC Far East Sugar & Derivatives Plant in Khabarovsk in order to construct a major sugar production facility. The implementation of the project is going to commence in 2017 at Sovgavan.
The total amount of investments is estimated at $210 million with approximately 90% of the company's authorized capital being expected to be held by three Asian investors and the balance to be owned by Russian investors.
In order to move the project forward, the company reckons on receiving 48 hectares of land without an auction and becoming a resident of the 'Soviet Harbor' Special Economic Zone (Sovgavan). The appropriate application has already been filed.
The new plant will produce 100 ktpa of high quality refined sugar, 350 ktpa of standard white sugar and 50 ktpa of brown sugar.
