A factory designed to manufacture components for hydraulic turbines is going to start its operations in the Saratov Region in 2017. This will allow to upgrade Saratov Hydro Power Plant and other hydroelectric engineering facilities.
The hydraulic turbine components factory is a joint venture between Rushydro, a federal company, and an Austrian corporation. The manufacturing of hydro-turbine equipment is expected to be started by the new factory in 4Q 2017 and the factory will have been driven up to its design capacity on a staged basis by 2020. This will allow to proceed to upgrading Saratov HPP and other hydraulic engineering facilities in Russia and CIS countries. The total cost of the project is going to be RUB 2.2 billion.
