A large construction mall owned by Leroy Merlin, a French company, has been launched in the Volzhsky District of Saratov. The event was attended by city and regional leaders. This investment project was earlier called by representatives of regional authorities as one of the most significant initiatives with the total amount invested by the French company exceeding RUB 1 billion. New job opportunities were created thanks to the construction of the new hypermarket. More than 360 persons will be employed by the facility and offered a full social package. Overall, Leroy Merlin has been doing its business is Russia for a long time and its Saratov-based mall is the 57^th one in succession. The Saratov based hypermarket is located right at the entrance into the city, in close vicinity to the "Ivolgino" District that is currently under construction. I.e. the facility features good vehicle access. Governor Valery Radayev of the Saratov Region, who visited the facility on its opening day, noted that Leroy Merlin's hypermarket was one of several investment projects being implemented in the Region and featuring foreign capital. He reminded that SNF (France) planned to launch acrylamide and polyacrylamide facility based on Saratovgorsyntez and an Austrian investor was constructing a plant to manufacture hydro turbines and components in Balakovo. The Governor of the Region believes that this attests to a high level of confidence in the Region expressed by investors. Mr. Deni Shiz, a Deputy CEO of LLC Leroy Merlin Vostok, took the occasion to express gratitude to Valery Radayev and the Administration of the Regional Center for their assistance provided to facilitate the implementation of the investment project.
