In 2017 pet food import in Russia stood at $289.3 mln and increased by 45% compared to 2016.
Russia’s export of these products amounted to $80.2 mln and declined by 2% compared to 2016.
The main pet food suppliers accounted for 80.5% of Russia’s import were France (17.2%), Italy (13.8%), Canada (13.5%), the Netherlands (10.1%), the Czech Republic (9.9%), Germany (9.4%) and Austria (6.6%).
Also Russia imported pet food from such countries as Thailand, Serbia, the UK, Hungary, China, Belgium, the USA, Sweden, Poland, Spain, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Brazil, Australia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ecuador, Denmark etc.
The main importer of Russia’s pet food became Belarus (51.2%). Kazakhstan ranked 2nd (15.3%), Ukraine ranked 3rd (9.7%), the United Kingdom ranked 4th (7.6%), Azerbaijan ranked 5th (3.7%), Italy ranked 6th (3.3%). Besides, Russia exported pet food to Georgia, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, France, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Germany and other countries.
