Belarus Is The Largest Fig Importer To Russia In The First Half Of 2018

From January to May, 2018 Russia’s fig import has amounted to $2.5 mln and thus increased by 58% compared to the same period of 2017.

Russia has imported mostly dried figs (97%), while fresh figs have accounted for the rest 3%.

From January to May, 2018 Belarus has exported to Russia 728 tn of figs worth $600 thous. and become the largest supplier of figs to Russia in terms of volume (51.5%).

Turkey has ranked 2nd for the volume of fig supplies to Russia (46.9%) with total fig export amounted to 663 tn worth $1.8 mln.

Among the fig suppliers to Russia in terms of value there have been Turkey (71.7%), Belarus (24.5%), Brazil (1.5%), the Republic of South Africa (1.1%), Peru (0.6%), Armenia (0.4%), China (0.2%), Argentina (0.1%) and Thailand (0.03%).
