Russia will process yarn from Uzbekistan

During the visit to Uzbekistan representatives of the delegation of Ivanovo Region and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have discussed the possibility of creating joint ventures for cotton yarn manufacturing in the territory of Uzbekistan.

Joint ventures are planned to be set up in Uzbekistan for manufacturing yarn that will be further processed in Russia.

Russia and Uzbekistan cooperate effectively in textile industry. In 2016 Uzbekistan rose from 5th to 3rd place among the main suppliers of cleaned cotton to Russia. For 2017 Russia imported goods from Uzbekistan in the total amount of $3.65 bn (a 33.9% increase compared to 2016). In 2017 Russia’s import of consumer goods from Uzbekistan amounted to almost $550 mln (a 17.4% increase).
