Egypt Increases Orange Export To Russia

According to the Federal Custom Service of Russia, for the first two months of 2019 Russia has increased the import of fresh oranges by 5.2% in terms of value and by 9.5% in terms of volume compared to the same period of 2018.

Russia’s import of this product has amounted to 117.63 thous. tones worth $66.67 mln.

The largest supplier of fresh oranges to Russia has been Egypt that has provided 82% of all Russia’s import of this good. Egypt’s export has risen by 22.9% in terms of value and by 30.7% in terms of volume.

The second largest supplier has become Turkey that has accounted for 11.5% of Russia’s fresh orange import. Turkey’s supplies have gone down by 50% both in terms of value and in terms of volume.

Besides, Russia has imported oranges from Morocco (2.3%), Syria (1.6%), China (1.4%), Iran (0.9%) and other countries.
